In the final days of the Battle for Eagleopolis, the former Smokejumpers of the 55th fought fiercely, battling street by street and alley by alley. Nowhere was safe, and every area was infested with Squids. The constant destruction led to widespread fires, creating a thick fog of smoke and death. In the last moments of the battle, many jumpers were blinded by the smoke; they stumbled over debris and bodies, often falling into flames and ash. Many soldiers from the first Battle of Malevelon and the second defense, particularly those from Pöpli IX, were undeterred by pain and burns. Upon returning to their flagship, "Creeks Blade," High Command renamed and reorganized them into the Malevelon Ashborn Infantry. Reborn into something stronger.
Function:
They act as the hammer against the Automaton Threat, with most of the Battalion serving as one of these soldiers. Mostly operating in Impossible Difficulty or less, they unleash fury amongst the bulk of the Red Menace.
