By adding Melchior ("the Bot") to your Discord server, using HD2Clans.com ("the Website"), or using any of our related services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.
Melchior and HD2Clans are operated by Tyler Johnson on behalf of the Freedom Alliance community ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms govern your use of the Bot, the Website, and any related services (collectively, "the Platform").
The Platform consists of two interconnected services:
Melchior Discord Bot provides clan management tools within Discord, including:
HD2Clans Website (hd2clans.com) is a web platform for Helldivers 2 clan communities, providing:
Data syncs between the Bot and Website in real-time. Actions taken on Discord through Melchior are reflected on the Website, and vice versa.
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Platform, in compliance with Discord's Terms of Service and applicable laws. By using the Platform, you represent that you meet this age requirement.
Users in EU/EEA member states that set the GDPR digital age of consent at 16 must additionally meet that requirement; see Privacy Policy §14.
Access to certain features requires authentication through Discord OAuth. By logging in, you authorize us to access basic Discord account information (user ID, username, avatar) as described in our Privacy Policy.
When using the Platform, you agree to:
HD2Clans is a public directory, and a listing is a signal that a community is worth joining. Our standards therefore do not stop at the edge of our own pages. We may act under Section 15 on conduct that takes place anywhere, including in your own Discord server, in the game, or on any other service, where in our judgment continuing to list you or your clan is not compatible with the reputation and the safety of this Platform. A clan is represented by the people who lead it. Conduct by a clan's leadership may be grounds for action against the clan listing itself, and conduct within a clan or in the spaces it operates may be grounds for action against the accounts of the people who lead it.
This is a standard applied at our sole discretion.
The Platform hosts and displays content created by users, clans, and server administrators ("User-Generated Content" or "UGC"). This includes clan profiles, division pages, operation briefings, user profiles, awards, and any other text or images submitted through the Bot or Website.
All User-Generated Content must adhere to the following guidelines:
Disclaimer: We do not pre-screen, endorse, or verify User-Generated Content. The views and opinions expressed in UGC are solely those of the content creators and do not reflect the views of the Platform operators.
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these guidelines without prior notice.
The Platform exists to organize and present Helldivers 2 clan communities. Clan listings, division pages, profiles, logos, and other content should reflect a genuine Helldivers 2 community or a good-faith interest in the game. We may, at our sole discretion, decline to list, delist, suspend, or remove any clan, profile, or content that, in our reasonable judgment, has no meaningful connection to Helldivers 2, misrepresents an unrelated group as a Helldivers 2 community, or uses the Platform primarily for an unrelated purpose. In making this determination we may consider a clan's name, logo, imagery, description, stated purpose, and activity. This is a discretionary standard intended to keep the Platform on-topic: we are not obligated to act on borderline content, and a decision not to act in one instance does not waive our right to act in another.
Scope: this English-only requirement applies only to content submitted into Platform-tracked fields (clan profiles, division profiles, operations, COMNET, and similar). It does not extend to conversation within your own Discord server — your community is free to speak whatever language it wants there, governed by Discord's own Terms of Service and Community Guidelines as described in Section 5. This requirement exists so Platform-facing content can be consistently reviewed and moderated for compliance with these guidelines.
Effective July 22, 2026: newly submitted or edited UGC not written in English is subject to removal or edit-rollback without notice. Existing non-English content submitted before this date will be brought into compliance over time at our discretion and is not being proactively swept on the effective date alone.
COMNET is the Platform's messaging system. Unlike the content covered by Section 6, which the Platform hosts on its own pages, a COMNET message is transmitted into other Discord servers and delivered to communities you do not control and cannot moderate. Because of that reach, COMNET carries its own terms in addition to everything in Section 5 and Section 6, and those terms are stricter.
COMNET is opt-in. Before your first message you must read and accept the COMNET terms through Melchior, and your acceptance is recorded against your account. Using COMNET at any time means you accept the terms in force at that time. If these terms change materially, you may be asked to accept them again before you can send further messages.
Section 6.1 applies to COMNET in full. The following additional standards apply only to COMNET:
COMNET messages may be reviewed at any time to ensure community safety and policy compliance, whether or not anyone has reported them. Reviewed messages, including messages you have deleted, may be retained as part of a moderation record.
Violations may result in the removal of your COMNET privileges, temporarily or permanently, or in a Platform-wide ban under Section 15. We may act on a single message.
COMNET enforcement decisions are final, and there is no appeals process for them. This is an exception to the appeal route described in Section 15 because of the unique nature of COMNET. Where a single decision removes both your COMNET access and your access to the rest of the Platform, this Section governs the COMNET portion only, and Section 15 continues to govern the rest.
If you add Melchior to a Discord server or manage a clan on the Platform, you are responsible for:
When you add the Bot to your Discord server, you and HD2Clans may act as joint controllers under GDPR Article 26 for personal data collected from your server members through the Bot. You are responsible for informing your members about the Platform's data collection practices, providing them access to our Privacy Policy, and notifying us promptly of any rights requests received from your members.
Users retain ownership of content they submit through the Platform (such as clan names, logos, usernames, and activity reports). By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, store, and distribute this content for the purpose of operating the Platform and related services.
Content you submit may be publicly visible on the Website, including but not limited to:
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable at our sole discretion.
The license you grant under this section terminates when you delete the underlying content. Some categories — including operation history, audit log entries (after anonymization), and donor records — are retained per the Privacy Policy §6 cascade and §6.3 exception, with your identifying information removed where applicable.
Submitted statistics. Statistics you submit may be reviewed at any time for accuracy, whether or not anyone has reported them. Where a submission is flagged for review, or where the result would place you at the top of a leaderboard, the screenshots you submitted may be retained as part of that review. Retention is capped at 90 days (Privacy Policy §9).
Clearing statistics. Where submitted statistics cannot be verified, we may clear the statistics recorded on your account and ask you to submit them again. Clearing statistics is a data-quality correction, and is not by itself a finding that you have broken any rule.
HD2Clans and Melchior are fan-made community projects and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with Arrowhead Game Studios AB or Sony Interactive Entertainment. HELLDIVERS is a registered trademark of Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC in the United States and other countries. Helldivers 2, related imagery, game content, and associated trademarks are the property of their respective owners.
This Platform does not claim ownership of any game-related trademarks, logos, or assets. Any use of Helldivers 2 content is for community and informational purposes only.
The Melchior name, HD2Clans name, logos, and original content created for the Platform are the property of the Freedom Alliance community.
We respect intellectual property rights and respond to clear notices of alleged infringement that comply with the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe content on the Platform infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent that includes:
Designated DMCA Agent: Tyler Johnson, [email protected].
If your content is removed in response to a DMCA notice and you believe the removal was the result of mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice to the same address that complies with 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3). Counter-notices must include your contact information, identify the removed material and the location at which it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that the removal was the result of mistake or misidentification, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for the district in which you reside (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found).
We will terminate the access of users we determine, in our reasonable discretion, to be repeat infringers, in accordance with 17 U.S.C. § 512(i).
While we strongly prefer and encourage original artwork be used for your logos and user-generated content, AI-generated content is permitted on the Platform. You may upload AI-generated clan logos, division emblems, profile images, banners, auxiliary ship artwork, and similar imagery, provided the content otherwise complies with these Terms.
The exception: HD2Clans and Freedom Alliance art assets are strictly prohibited from being used as AI inputs. This includes our ship models, our logos, our artwork, and any other media published directly by HD2Clans and the Freedom Alliance. You agree that you will NOT:
This applies whether the AI tool is local or hosted, free or commercial, and regardless of whether the resulting output is distributed inside or outside the Platform. Violations are grounds for content removal, clan delisting, and Platform-wide bans under Section 15.
We strive to keep the Platform available and functional, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We reserve the right to:
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR DAMAGE TO YOUR DISCORD SERVER OR REPUTATION.
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100 USD), OR THE AMOUNT YOU CONTRIBUTED TO THE PLATFORM IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
Some jurisdictions (including certain EU member states and the State of California) do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages or liabilities. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
We may act against an individual account, against a clan listing, or against both. The actions available to us range from a recorded warning or the removal of specific content, through restrictions on parts of the Platform, up to permanent removal from the Platform entirely, and any of them may be applied for a fixed period or with no end date. We choose the action, we choose how long it lasts, and we are not required to apply a lighter one first. A single incident may result in permanent removal. The clan-listing lifecycle (active / suspended / dissolved) is defined in our Privacy Policy §16. Grounds for action include, but are not limited to:
Some actions may be appealed and some may not. Whether an appeal is available is our decision, made case by case, and the notice you receive will tell you. Where an appeal is available, it is submitted from the notice in your in-site inbox. An appeal is a request for reconsideration, not a right to a reversal: the action stays in force while we consider it, we are not required to share the evidence we relied on or to identify anyone who brought the matter to our attention, and our decision on an appeal is final.
Actions against a clan listing, including suspension and dissolution, are not subject to appeal. A listing is something we publish, and the decision to publish it is ours. Dissolution is permanent: a dissolved listing cannot be returned to its previous state, and its membership and Discord server link are not restored. We may choose to lift a suspension or restore a listing where we conclude we acted in error, but that is entirely at our discretion and is never guaranteed. COMNET enforcement is likewise not subject to appeal (Section 7.5).
Enforcement under these Terms is at our sole discretion. Access to the Platform is a privilege we extend, not an entitlement. Nothing in these Terms obligates us to act on any particular matter, or requires that two matters with similar facts reach the same outcome. This does not limit obligations we have under applicable law, which we will continue to meet regardless of anything in this Section, including our handling of copyright notices under Section 10 and of privacy rights requests under our Privacy Policy.
You may stop using the Platform at any time by removing Melchior from your Discord server and/or ceasing to use the Website. To delete your personal data or clan listing:
The Platform offers a voluntary contribution program. All donations and subscriptions are entirely optional — no features are locked behind payment. Contributions unlock cosmetic recognition only (Supporter tags, Tier Badges on player cards and profile pages).
Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time through the Stripe customer portal. All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc.; we do not store, handle, or have access to your payment details, billing address, or financial information. All contributions are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. If you exercise your right under our Privacy Policy §6.3 to delete your donor record, you may forfeit any associated refund rights, as we will no longer retain record of the contribution.
The Platform operates on and integrates with third-party services including Discord and Stripe. We are not responsible for these third-party services, their policies, or any issues arising from their platforms.
Use of the Platform is subject to Discord's Terms of Service when using Discord-related features. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. and are subject to Stripe's Terms of Service and Stripe's Privacy Policy.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically. Material changes will be announced via a site-wide banner shown on your next visit. Continued use after acknowledgment constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The same banner covers updates to both the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.
If you have questions about these Terms, need to report a violation, or wish to appeal a content removal decision, please contact us through the Melchior-1 Support Server or by email at [email protected].
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising out of or related to these Terms or the Platform shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts of competent jurisdiction located within the State of Florida, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
