Everything you need to know about using Melchior

Updated 20 Aug 2026

Getting Started

What is Melchior?

Melchior is a Discord bot that turns your Helldivers 2 clan server into a fully fledged command center. Your leaders create Orders, which are events your clan works on together, and Melchior tracks everyone's progress on live statboards in your Discord server. All of it syncs automatically to your clan's public page on HD2Clans.com, so your clan has a permanent record of what it has done without anyone needing to upkeep a spreadsheet.

For Players

If you are a clan member and you just want to take part, these four commands are most useful:

  1. /clanjoin links your Discord account to your clan. Use this command in your clan's server, to link it to your clan. Your clan affiliation then follows you into every Melchior server you are in.
  2. /signup shows you the Orders your clan currently has running, and lets you join one.
  3. /submitreport is how you report what you have done while participating in an Order.
  4. /mycareer shows your stats, your awards, and the Orders you have taken part in.

If you prefer not to use commands, every Melchior statboard also carries Sign Up and Submit Report buttons, and you can use those to participate in Orders, too. Participating in Orders covers all of it in detail.

For Clan LeadersAdmin

If you are setting Melchior up for your clan, the order of operations is:

  1. Install Melchior to your Discord server using the button on this page.
  2. Run /setupserver, which walks you through linking your clan and choosing your channels.
  3. Wait for approval. Server links are reviewed by hand, usually within ~48 hours.
  4. Once you receive the approval notification, run /createop to create your first Order.

/setupserver involves quite a few options, so it has its own section further down under Server Setup.

Switching clans: your clan affiliation follows you across every Melchior-linked server, so you only ever need to set it once. If you do move to a different clan, run /clanjoin again in the other clan's server and pick the new one.
Moving to a different Discord server? Melchior links one clan to one server at a time, so a move means releasing the link on the old server before the new one can take it. The steps are written out under Moving Melchior to a Different Server. Nothing about your clan itself is affected: your roster, Orders, awards and stats all live on the website and stay exactly as they are.

Understanding Orders

An Order is an event created by clan leaders for people to take part in. It could be a weekend push to rack up kills, a month-long effort to clear a set of objectives, or a massive deployment involving every clan in the Freedom Alliance network. Orders are what gives a clan something to rally around, and they are the main thing Melchior exists to run.

Every Order gets its own public webpage on HD2Clans.com with full statistics and leaderboards, and that page stays up after the Order closes, so your clan builds a history it can point at.

Terms

A few words used throughout this guide:

Order. An event that clans create for people to participate in.
Scope. Who is allowed to join an Order. See Order Scopes.
Type. How an Order tracks progress and how it ends. See Order Types.
Metric. A single stat an Order is tracking, such as kills or missions. See Metrics.
Statboard. A live-updating board that Melchior posts in your Discord server for an Order. See Statboards.
Report. Your submission of what you have done toward an Order. See Submitting Reports.

Order Scopes

Every Order has a Scope, which decides who is allowed to join it. There are currently three:

Server Orders (SO)

Private to your own server. Only your own members can take part, and you can run as many at once as you like.

See example →

Clan Orders (CO)

Shared between clan servers. You create one, other clans find it and join, and everyone works toward the same goals.

See example →

Alliance Orders (AO)

Rare, fleetwide deployments issued by Alliance Command. Every clan can take part immediately.

See example →

Server Orders (SO) are private to your own server, so the only people who can participate in a Server Order are the people in your own server. You can have as many active Server Orders as you want. If your clan has the Divisions Module enabled, you will be able to use additional features like making a Server Order only open to some of your Divisions, seeing Division breakdowns on your Server Orders, and more. See Divisions Module.

Clan Orders (CO) are shared between clan servers. Your clan creates a Clan Order, and then other clans can find it and join it using /reviewops, and everyone works toward the same goals together. Each participating clan gets its own statboard in its own server, and the Order's webpage shows how every clan is doing. You can only have one active Clan Order at a time. If you want to find other clans' ongoing Clan Orders and join them, use /reviewops to browse the available list. If your clan already has one running and you want to prepare the next one, you can build it now and save it as an Order Draft. See Order Drafts.

Alliance Orders (AO) are fleetwide deployments issued by Alliance Command rather than by any one clan. When an AO goes out, every clan in the network can take part immediately without anyone needing to opt in. They are rare, and they are the largest thing that happens on Melchior, involving hundreds of clans, and thousands of players.

Order Types

There are three Order Types: Timed Orders, Goal Orders, and Delta Orders. This decides how progress is tracked and how the Order ends.

Timed Orders run for a fixed stretch of time and close themselves when it runs out. You set the duration when you create the Order, anywhere from 1 to 720 hours (720 hours is equal to 30 days). Players report their own numbers as they go. Timed Orders are the simplest to run and the easiest for players to understand, and nobody has to remember to close them.

Goal Orders run until a set of targets is reached. When you create one, you first set between 1 and 5 metrics (Bile Titans killed, Propaganda Towers destroyed, or whatever you want to track), and then for each metric you set a total for your clan to reach. The Order stays open until every target is met, or until leadership closes it by hand. Protip: you can increase a Goal at any time using /editops on the Goal Order. Just be aware that you cannot decrease a goal that way.

Delta Orders work differently from the other two. Instead of players typing numbers in, they upload a screenshot of their in-game Career Stats page and Melchior reads it. Players upload their career stats once during the Delta Order, then again later in the Delta Order, and the difference between them is what counts for their stats. That means the numbers come straight from the game rather than from what people remember doing, and it is the only Type that draws on the game's own career tracking. Delta Orders pick their metrics from the 24 career stats the game records. See Career Stats & Player Cards.

Goal Orders have two optional extras for clans that have them enabled: you can give one a Deadline, or run it in Stages that unlock one at a time. Both are covered under Advanced Features.

How Goal Orders End

A Goal Order that nobody closes will not sit open forever. There are three backstops, and whichever comes first is the one that ends it.

  • Once every Goal has been met, you receive a notification in your Command Center that all goals have been reached. This gives your leadership time to review and use /moderate to remove any potentially incorrect reports, or to use /editops to close the Goal Order if all looks good. The Goal Order stays open for a maximum of 3 days after you get the "goals met" notification, to give you time.
  • If nobody submits a report to a Goal Order for 7 days, the Goal Order closes as inactive.
  • No Goal Order runs longer than 45 days in total, regardless of anything else.

These exist so that a forgotten Goal Order does not sit on your clan's page indefinitely looking active. Your leadership gets a warning in the Command Center as the 45-day limit approaches.

Metrics

A Metric is a single stat that is tracked by an Order. Every Order has between 1 and 5 metrics, and for Timed and Goal Orders you can name them whatever you like: kills, missions completed, samples collected, a specific enemy type, or something entirely your own. Delta Orders are the exception, because their metrics have to come from the career stats that the game itself records.

Metrics are what players submit reports toward, and what the statboard and the Order's webpage display.

Closeout Briefs

Your Briefing is what an Order says at the start. A Closeout Brief is what it says at the end, and you write it in advance.

You will find (Optional) Closeout Brief directly under the Briefing on /createop and /editops. It stays completely hidden until the Order closes, including from you, and then appears alongside the Briefing both in Discord and on the Order's page here.

It is available on every Order. A one-part Order deserves an ending as much as a five-part arc does, and for a Campaign it is the only place to mark the finish of the whole story: write it into the final Part.

Scheduling: an Order can start the moment you create it, or you can schedule it for a future date and time. A scheduled Order posts its statboard straight away in a "Pending" state showing when it begins, so your clan can see what is coming before it starts. If you don't set an Order to be scheduled, then it will simply launch as soon as you finish with /createop.

Participating in Orders

Joining an Order

You can sign up to any Order available in your clan's server, whether that is a Server Order your clan issued, a Clan Order your clan issued or opted into using /reviewops, or an Alliance Order. If you happen to also be in another clan's server that uses Melchior, you can sign up to Orders in their server, too.

Signing up, as a player

The quickest way is the Sign Up button on the Order's statboard in your Statboards channel. The other is to run /signup, which lists every Order you can currently sign up to and lets you pick from the list. Both do exactly the same thing.

You have to be signed up before you can report anything, and you can be signed up to as many Orders at once as your server has running.

If an Order you know exists is not in your list, it is usually a Clan Order your clan has not opted into. That is a leadership decision rather than something you can do yourself, so ask whoever holds @Melchior Admin in your server.

Opting your clan in, as a leaderAdmin

Clan Orders are the collaborative Scope: one clan creates the Order, and other clans opt in alongside them to work toward the same goals. Run /reviewops to browse the Clan Orders currently open to you, read what each one is asking for, and press Participate on any you want to opt your clan into. From that moment your server gets its own statboard for that Order, and your members can sign up to it like any other.

There is no cap on how many other clans' Orders you opt into. The one-at-a-time rule applies only to Clan Orders your own clan creates.

If your clan needs to pull out, /reviewops carries a Withdraw button on Orders you have opted into. You will not see it on an Order your own clan issued, because ending that one is /editops instead.

Server Orders and Alliance Orders need none of this. A Server Order is already yours, and every clan in the network receives an Alliance Order automatically, so there is nothing to opt into in either case. But if you need to edit one of your own Orders, you can always use /editops.

Statboards

A statboard is the live scoreboard Melchior posts for an Order in your Statboards channel. It shows the Order's objectives, how far along everyone is, and who has been reporting. You never need to refresh it or ask for a new one, because it is the same message being edited over and over for as long as the Order runs.

Every Order your server takes part in gets its own statboard, so if your clan has three Orders running you will have three boards in that channel.

Boards update dynamically as reports come in. They update a little faster if reports are actively coming in, and a little slower if there haven't been new reports in a while. If you accidentally delete a statboard, Melchior will try to regenerate it for you.

Clan Leaders can choose between two Statboard Styles: Relaxed and Competitive. Statboard Styles show slightly different stat breakdowns. Most laid-back clans will use Relaxed, which shows recent summaries of activity. Competitive Style shows top-3 rankings and is a good fit for clans with a competitive vibe. Your Statboard Style only affects how a statboard shows in your server.

By default every statboard in your server goes to one channel. Clans that want more control can register Extra Statboard Channels and route Orders to different places.

Submitting Reports

Once you are signed up, /submitreport is how you report progress toward the Order. You can also press Submit Report on the Order's statboard, which skips straight to the same flow for that Order.

What you enter depends on the Order's Type. For a Timed or Goal Order you type your numbers for each metric. For a Delta Order you upload screenshots of your in-game Career Stats page instead, and Melchior reads the numbers off them. See Order Types.

Your report appears in your clan's Reports channel and the statboard updates over time. You can report as many times as you like while an Order is running, so there is no need to save it all up for the end.

Protip: clan leaders, meaning anyone holding the @Melchior Admin role, can review and act on every report submitted to their clan's Orders using /moderate. See Moderation.

Batch Reports

If you want to report numbers that came from several players at once, for example a squad that played together and wants one submission for the whole group, use /submitbatchreport.

Melchior asks how many players the batch covers, and then shows you a list of the Orders you can report to. That list stays open, so you can send the same batch to several Orders one after another without being asked the count again each time.

Batch reports count toward your clan's totals on the Order, but be advised: they deliberately exclude you from individual leaderboard rankings and award eligibility, because there is no way to tell which of the players in the batch did which part of the work.

Batch reports are not available on Delta Orders. A Delta Order measures the change in one person's career stats, so a combined number from several players has nothing to actually compare against.

Fixing Mistakes

If you submit the wrong numbers, use /undoreport. It removes your most recent report on an Order, and you can then submit a corrected one in its place. It only ever removes your own reports, and you can remove older reports too.

Keeping an eye on things: the statboard in your Statboards channel is the live picture of an Order. /mycareer shows your own stats and awards across every Order you have taken part in, and /awards shows what is currently available to earn.

Career Stats & Player Cards

Uploading Career Stats

Melchior can read your in-game career statistics and attach them to your profile. In Helldivers 2, go to the Armory, then Career, and take two pictures of the page: one of the top of the screen, and one of the bottom after you have scrolled down. Then run /updatestats and upload both.

Screenshots and phone photos both work, and several game languages are supported, so you do not need to switch the game to English first.

Melchior reads the numbers off the images and uses them for your profile, your Player Card, and the website's global leaderboards. They are also what Delta Orders measure against. See Order Types.

Player Cards

A Player Card is a high-resolution image showing off your career. Run /mycard and Melchior generates one containing:

  • your career stats, with your rank inside your clan and globally
  • up to 8 awards of your choosing
  • your custom armor set

You need to have submitted your career stats at least once before a card can be generated, since there is nothing to put on it otherwise.

The armor, which awards appear, and the rest of the card's settings are all chosen on the website. Log in at HD2Clans.com, then tap your avatar in the top-right, and go to Edit Profile.

Awards

Awards are achievements your clan's leadership creates and attaches to an Order. Each Order can carry up to 6 of them.

Awards are permanent. Once you have earned one it is yours, it stays on your profile and your Player Card, and it follows you even if you later move to a different clan. You can see everything you hold with /mycareer, and everything currently available to earn with /awards.

Award Types

There are three kinds, and they differ by what triggers them.

Completion Awards are granted when the Order closes. Your leadership sets a minimum number of reports you need to have submitted to qualify. You can set that minimum to be zero, in which case simply signing up is enough to grant the Completion Award.

Metric Awards are granted the moment your reports reach a threshold, without waiting for the Order to end. For example, an award might require 500 Terminid kills, and it arrives as soon as someone's reports add up to that.

Honor Awards are granted by hand rather than automatically. Leadership gives them out for whatever reason they choose: exceptional performance, helping the community, or anything else they want to recognize. These are created and issued via HD2Clans.com → Manage Clan → Awards tab.

Awards created late still reach everyone: if leadership adds an award partway through an Order, it is granted immediately to everyone who already qualifies. If they add one after the Order has already closed, it is granted immediately to every past participant who meets the criteria.

Creating AwardsAdmin

Run /createaward to attach an award to one of your Orders. You set the name, the description, the message people see when they earn it, the type, and what it takes to qualify.

The award's image can be added in either place. Inside /createaward there is an Award Image button that takes a PNG, JPG or WebP up to 10MB, and square images look best. You can also manage award images on the website at HD2Clans.com under Manage Clan, then the Awards tab, which is the easier option if you are adding images to several awards at once.

/editawards edits or deletes an award afterwards. Once an award has actually been granted to somebody, what you can change about it becomes limited, because editing the criteria under people who have already earned it would rewrite history. If you need to make a large change to an award that is already out, delete it and create a replacement.

Server SetupAdmin

Required Channels

Melchior needs three channels, and it is worth creating them before you run /setupserver so the setup panel has something to point at.

Your Command Center is where your leadership runs admin commands and where Melchior sends you notifications about your clan. Keep it private to the people you trust with the @Melchior Admin role. Most clans set the Command Center to their moderators and staff only.

Statboards is where the live scoreboards go. Set it read-only for regular members. The boards are the entire point of the channel, and conversation in there pushes them out of view. See Statboards.

Reports is where your members run their commands and where their submitted reports appear. This is the busiest of the three and the one your members will actually spend time in.

Using /setupserver

/setupserver opens an interactive panel holding every server-level setting Melchior has. It runs across more than one page, and you move between them with the Previous and Next buttons at the bottom.

Nothing takes effect as you click. The panel stages what you change and applies it when you press Apply All Changes, so you can wander around it, change your mind, and close it again without having broken anything. You can also come back to it at any point later; re-running /setupserver on an already-configured server just reopens the same panel with your current settings in it.

The first page is the essentials, and most clans set it once and never open it again. Link your server to an existing clan or register a new one, choose your Command Center, Statboards and Reports channels, and create the two roles Melchior uses, @Melchior Admin and @Melchior Pings.

The Options page is where everything else lives, and it is worth reading through even if you leave it all on its defaults. It splits into two groups.

Clan Order Notifications

These decide what notifications you get about other clans' Clan Orders, in your Command Center.

  • Daily Digest posts one summary a day of the public Clan Orders from the previous 24 hours. This is the low-noise way to keep an eye on what the rest of the alliance is running.
  • Invitation Alerts ping you the moment another clan invites your clan to a Clan Order, rather than leaving you to notice it in the digest the next day.
  • Popular Order Alerts tell you when a Clan Order passes 30 participating clans, which is usually a sign that something worth joining is already underway.
  • Blacklist lets you name clans you would rather not hear from at all, and stops them reaching you on any of the three above. See Blacklists.

Server Options

These decide how Melchior behaves inside your own server.

Statboard Style switches your statboards between Relaxed, which leans on participation and recent activity, and Competitive, which leans on rankings. It changes only how boards look in your server, and the change appears on the next refresh rather than immediately. This lets you pick whichever matches your clan's vibe.

Clan Order Report Mirroring is a unique feature of Melchior. When your clan is part of a Clan Order, CO Report Mirroring makes it so that Melchior broadcasts someone's report to all the other clans participating in that Order. So if someone submits a report from another server to a CO your clan is a part of, if CO Mirroring is enabled, their report will appear in your Reports channel. This lets clan members see the whole effort rather than only your own part of it.

Alliance Order Report Mirroring does the same during Alliance Orders. Worth thinking about before you switch it on: an AO involves hundreds of clans, so this adds quite a bit of traffic to your Reports channel. Reports during an AO get summarized, to avoid blasting your Reports channel with too many mirrored reports.

Channel Restrictions decide whether Melchior's commands work only in the channels you designated, or anywhere in your server. Leaving this on is recommended, and makes Melchior simpler to use: you tell your members to use commands in certain channels. However, if you want more flexibility so that people can use commands anywhere, switch this off. We have more information on managing commands and permissions later in the guide, under Run Specific Commands in Specific Channels.

Page 3: Advanced

Page 3 holds settings for optional power-user features, and it is empty for most clans. See Advanced Features.

After Setup

Once you have submitted the panel:

  1. Your server link is reviewed by the alliance's hub admins. These involve real people reviewing your request, so please allow a few days.
  2. When it is approved you will receive a message in your Command Center.
  3. Give the @Melchior Admin role to whoever on your staff should be able to run Orders and perform other admin functions. See Leadership.
  4. Have your members run /clanjoin so their accounts are linked to the clan.
  5. Create your first Order with /createop.

Once your clan is running, your clan page on the website can be customized far beyond what it shows by default, and it is worth a look. See Your Clan Page Has More Options Than You Think.

Modules

Melchior has optional features called Modules that you turn on only if you want them, using /setupmodules. Modules are intended to add different functionalities that clans can choose from based on the experiences they want to offer their communities. Newsletter, Divisions, COMNET, Fleets, and Radio are the current five Modules, and each has its own section further down under Modules. If you don't want to use any Modules, simply leave them all disabled.

Moving Melchior to a Different Server

Switching to a new Discord server, or merging two servers into one? Melchior requires that each server can only be linked to one clan, and only one clan linked to one server. So the old server has to release the link before the new one can claim it. How to migrate servers:

  1. In your old server, the one you are leaving, run /setupserver.
  2. Click Reset All Settings, the red button with the reset icon.
  3. You will be offered two options. Pick Full Reset (Unlink Clan), the red one, not "Reset Settings Only". Full Reset is the one that actually releases the clan link.
  4. In your new server, run /setupserver and set it up as normal. With the old server no longer holding the link, your clan will be available to connect here.
Do not pick "Reset Settings Only" for this. It clears your channels and roles but deliberately keeps the clan link in place, which is the opposite of what you need. Either way, none of this touches the clan itself: your roster, Orders, awards and stats all live on the website and are completely unaffected. The only thing that this process changes is which Discord server is connected to your clan.

LeadershipAdmin

Leadership lets you manage the administrative functions of a clan, whether on HD2Clans.com or in Melchior. If your clan uses Melchior, grant someone the @Melchior Admin role to grant them Leadership over your clan. If you want to remove their Leadership, you can remove the @Melchior Admin role.

Leadership allows you to use Admin commands on Melchior like /createop, /editops, /setupmodules, and more (see the full list of Melchior's Admin commands here). It also lets you edit your clan's page on HD2Clans.com, edit your Discord URL on the clan page, and other admin functions.

Go to Manage Clan then press Leadership on the navigation menu to view your clan's Leadership panel. This lets you view your Clan Leaders and their info.

Clan Affiliation and Leadership

Leadership is different from being a member of a clan: You can only be a member of one clan at a time. Being a member of a clan determines which clan gets credit when you sign up to participate in an Order, submit Reports to an Order, and other basic participation-related activities. Your clan membership is shown on your user profile page, and when you use the /myclan command in Melchior.

However, you can be a Leader of multiple clans at a time. Being a Leader of a clan determines which clans you can manage: performing administrative functions like updating the clan's webpage, creating Orders, setting up Modules or changing your Melchior settings, and so on.

In the vast majority of cases, people just lead one clan. But HD2Clans and Melchior are designed to allow you to be a Leader of multiple clans, because we have found that some Leaders want to help manage other clans.

Leading Multiple Clans

Leadership applies to one clan at a time, and each clan decides its own Leaders. Being a Leader of one clan has no effect on any other clan, and leading a clan does not change which clan you are a member of.

On HD2Clans.com, if you lead multiple clans, pressing Manage Clan lets you pick which one you want to edit. On Melchior, your commands simply work based on what server you're in. If you're a Leader of 3 clans, using an admin command in Clan A's server means you are doing something for Clan A.

The two kinds of Admin

You are a Clan Leader of a clan if you hold either Melchior Admin or Site Admin for that clan. You can hold both at once, and both give you the same abilities. They differ only in where they come from and how they are removed.

Tip: If your clan uses Melchior, simply use the @Melchior Admin role on your server to handle Leadership. Giving and removing the @Melchior Admin role is the simplest and fastest way to manage your clan's Leaders. All the Site Admin functionality is aimed at our website-only clans.

Becoming a Clan Leader

You can become a Clan Leader in one of three ways:

  1. Via HD2Clans registration. If you create a clan on hd2clans.com and the clan creation is approved, you become its first Leader, holding Site Admin for that clan.
  2. Via a Melchior Admin grant. If your clan has Melchior installed and set up, your clan can give you the @Melchior Admin role in its Discord server. Melchior checks for this every hour, so your Leadership appears on the website shortly after you get the role.
  3. Via a Site Admin grant. An existing Leader can go to the Leadership panel on their clan's page and assign you as a Site Admin of their clan. This gives you Leadership over that clan.

Losing Leadership

Melchior Admin is removed when:

  1. Your clan removes your @Melchior Admin role in its Discord server.
  2. You remove the role from yourself, if your Discord permissions allow it.

Site Admin is removed when:

  1. A Leader revokes it from the Leadership panel.
  2. You give it up from the Leadership panel.
  3. You choose to give it up when leaving your clan with Melchior's /clanjoin command.

Either kind is also removed if the clan is dissolved.

Note: Because the two kinds of Admin are separate, removing one does not remove the other. If your clan takes away your @Melchior Admin role but you still hold Site Admin from that clan, you are still a Clan Leader there. To fully remove someone as a Clan Leader, check the Leadership panel on your clan's page and remove both.
Note: Joining or leaving a clan does not change your Leadership by itself. If you leave a clan you lead, you stop being a member of it, but you are still a Clan Leader there until it is removed in one of the ways above.

Handing it over

Every clan keeps at least one Clan Leader, so you will not be able to remove the last one. To step down, open the Leadership panel, grant Leadership to another member, and then remove your own.

Protip: HD2Clans.com keeps track of your Activity Log, which lets you audit all admin actions taken by your clan leadership. This makes it easy to track who does what, on a leadership team that has multiple members. To view your clan's Activity Log, log in at HD2Clans.com, then go to your clan's profile page, then tap the Activity Log button.
Need help? If you have questions about Leadership, need to transfer clan ownership, or run into any issues, visit the Support Server.

ModerationAdmin

Leadership also comes with tools for dealing with problems inside your own clan. /moderate in Discord lets you:

  • search for a member by username or Discord ID
  • delete someone's reports, which removes their contribution from an Order
  • blacklist someone, which stops them taking part in your clan's Orders at all

Actions on a report

When you open a report in /moderate, there are four things you can do with it, and they run from gentlest to most serious.

Nudge the player. Melchior messages them asking them to check the report. This is the one to reach for first, because our data shows that most problematic reports are accidents rather than anything deliberate. Common mistakes are stuff like somebody typing their mission count into the kills box, or reporting the same session twice, or adding an extra 0 by accident to put 50 missions completed instead of 5. If the player receives a Nudge, the player can then remove the report themselves, reply to you with an explanation, or stand by it as correct, and whichever they pick comes back to you. A nudge is a question, not a decision, and it gives the player room to fix their own mistake.

Delete the report. This removes it from the Order. You give a reason for your own records, and you can separately provide a reason the player sees, so nobody is left wondering why their submission vanished.

Notify the Command Center. If the report is on a Clan Order that another clan issued, this sends the problem to that clan's leadership instead. It can be the right move when the player is not one of your members.

Escalate to the Competition Committee. The last resort, for something that looks deliberate rather than mistaken. It leaves your clan and goes to the alliance for review and action.

All four are recorded with who did it and when, which is what your clan's Activity Log shows you.

Blacklists

Melchior has two actions called a Blacklist. They sound alike, so it is worth knowing which one you are reaching for.

Blacklisting a clan controls what you see. Blacklisting a person controls what they can do.

A clan blacklist is a mute. Set it in /setupserver, on the Options page, under Clan Order Notifications. You enter clan IDs, separated by commas, and from then on those clans' Orders stop reaching you through the Daily Digest, Invitation Alerts and Popular Order Alerts. It is one-way and entirely on your side: the other clan is never told, nothing changes for them, and they still see everything of yours.

A user blacklist is a ban. Set it either with /moderate, under Blacklist Users, or on the website under Manage Clan, then the Users tab. A reason is required, up to 200 characters. A blacklisted person cannot sign up to your clan's Orders and cannot submit reports to them, and that applies everywhere your Order appears rather than only inside your own server. They are told: when they try, Melchior tells them your clan has blacklisted them. Remove it the same way you added it, or review who is on the list with /moderate, then View Blacklisted.

The short version: the clan blacklist decides what shows up in front of you, and the user blacklist decides who is allowed to take part in what you run.

Need help? If you have questions about moderation, run into a dispute you are not sure how to handle, or need anything else, visit the Support Server.

ModulesAdmin

What Are Modules?

Modules are optional parts of Melchior that you switch on only if your clan wants them. Run /setupmodules to see what is available and toggle each one.

Some Modules add new commands your community can use. For example, if you enable the Divisions Module, you can create Divisions, which are subfactions of your clan, and your members gain a /divisionjoin command so they can join or switch Divisions. If you leave the Divisions Module off, that command does not exist in your server at all.

That is the point of the system: your members only ever see the commands your clan actually uses, instead of a long list where most of it does nothing.

Turning a Module off later does not delete anything. The data stays where it is and comes back if you turn it on again.

Newsletter Module

The Newsletter Module lets your clan submit news to the FA Weekly Newsletter, which is published on HD2Clans.com and also posted to the #freedom-alliance-news channel that reaches more than 300 Discord servers across the alliance.

Use /news to submit an entry, or to view, edit or delete one you have already submitted while it is still pending. Each clan gets one item per week, and submitting requires the @Melchior Admin role.

Divisions Module

Divisions are sub-groups inside your clan, each with its own name, logo and description. If your clan is large enough that it already thinks of itself in parts, whether that is squads, regiments, timezones or anything else, Divisions make that structure real inside Melchior.

To create Divisions, first enable the Divisions Module. Then go to HD2Clans.com, visit your clan page, and tap the Divisions button near the top of your screen, to create and manage your clan's Divisions.

Once you have created at least one Division, members can browse and join with /divisionjoin. Their reports then count toward their Division as well as the clan, and your Server Orders gain a per-Division breakdown on both the statboard and the Order's webpage. Each Division also gains their own webpage, and Divisions are visible on your clan profile page, too.

You can create up to 16 Divisions.

Division Modes

/setupmodules also offers two modes for how membership of your Divisions works.

One Division means a member belongs to exactly one Division at a time. It is the simpler of the two and it is what most clans want, because there is never any question about which Division a given report counts toward.

Multiple Divisions lets a member join several, but they must nominate one as their Primary, and that is the one that their Server Order reports count toward. It gives you more flexibility, at the cost of being a rule you will have to explain to your members. But for clans that want members to be a part of multiple Divisions, this would be the setting they'd want to use.

Divisions and Server Orders

With Divisions enabled, your Server Orders gain three things: a per-Division breakdown on the statboard, Division standings on the Order's webpage, and the option when creating the Order to restrict it to specific Divisions.

This applies to Server Orders only. Clan Orders and Alliance Orders involve multiple clans, so they report at clan level rather than breaking your clan down internally into per-Division stats. See Order Scopes.

COMNET Module

COMNET adds cross-server communication. It covers two separate things, and you can enable either or both from /setupmodules.

Command Center messaging lets your leadership send a message straight into another clan's Command Center. You can message any clan you currently share a Clan Order with, and for 3 days after that Order closes, so there is time to say thanks or settle up afterwards. If you have enabled Command Center messaging, simply use /message from your Command Center, pick a clan, then write a message.

COMNET broadcasts are for your members rather than your leadership. Using /message in a COMNET channel, a member composes a roleplay-style message with a callsign, a location and a message body. Local COMNET keeps messages inside your own server. Global COMNET sends it to, and receives from, every other server that has Global COMNET switched on. The Global COMNET is a global network of roleplay-style communication.

Your COMNET channels can be your Reports channel, separate channels, or one channel serving both Local and Global, since members choose the scope as they write. The one restriction is that your Command Center cannot be a COMNET broadcast channel, because COMNET is for all of your members while the Command Center is private to leadership.

Fleets Module

The Fleets Module is the Discord companion to your clan's fleet of ships on the website. The heavy lifting happens in The Hangar, where you commission ships with Fleet Points, customize them in the Paint Shop, hand out crew roles, and manage your Auxiliary ships. The Fleets Module brings the everyday half of that into Discord, so your clan can look at and move its fleet without leaving your server. For more information on how The Hangar works, check out the guide provided here.

Enabling it adds four commands.

/fleet opens your personal Fleets panel. Four tabs across the top switch between Ships I Command, which is everything you personally have authority over, Clan Fleet, which is your clan's entire roster, Active Now, which is everything currently deployed or in transit, and My Service, which is your own voyage history. Opening any ship shows its hull, repairs, XP, crew and what it unlocks next.

/deploy issues an order to a ship. You pick the ship, then the action (Deploy, Recall, Drydock, Redirect, or Escort DSS), then the target. This is also how you move your own personal Super Destroyer.

/fleetmap posts the live alliance-wide galactic map, along with a link to the interactive version on the website where you can filter by clan or by planet.

/fleetboard is for Melchior Admins. It posts a Fleetboard to a channel you choose: every ship in your clan, the state each one is in, recent returns, and every crew slot still open. It refreshes itself every two minutes, so it works as a permanent pinned summary of what your fleet is doing.

Who can deploy which ship follows the roles your clan hands out on the website in your clan's Fleets management tab. Read here for full info on ship authority.

If /deploy tells you no ships are available, it is one of two things: either you have not claimed your free Super Destroyer yet, in which case the command points you at the Fleet Shop, or your clan has not given you authority over any of its ships.

Commissioning new ships, Paint Shop customization, assigning crew roles, creating Auxiliary ships, and editing a ship's name or lore all stay on the website. Turning the Module off hides the four commands and does nothing to your Hangar data, which is waiting exactly as you left it if you turn it back on.

Radio Module

The Freedom Alliance runs WFAR 437.7, a 24/7 live radio stream featuring music, updates from DJ Liberty, and news broadcasts from Helldivers personalities around the galaxy. The Radio Module lets you add WFAR 437.7 to your server so your clan members can enjoy the in-universe galactic broadcast at any time.

To set it up, open /setupmodules, enable the Radio Module, then press its Settings button. Inside you will find a dropdown that lets you Select the voice channel for the station. You can also type in a voice channel name to pick that one. After you pick one, Melchior will grant itself the permissions it needs in that channel automatically, rename the channel after the station, and set the channel's status to Join to listen. The Radio Channel line in your Modules list will then show the channel you picked, so you can confirm it took.

After that the Radio Module runs itself. When someone joins the Radio VC, Melchior joins a few seconds later and starts streaming. When the last listener leaves, Melchior stays for about a minute in case they come back, then leaves the channel. While the channel is empty, its status reads Join to listen, and while the station plays, the status shows the track currently playing, so your members can see what is on without joining. To be clear, members who are deafened don't count as listeners, so Melchior waits until someone joins who can hear it.

Melchior does not change anyone's permissions except its own. If you want the station to play without people talking over it, remove the Speak permission from whichever roles you want kept quiet in that voice channel. Leaving it as-is means your members can talk while the station plays, which some clans prefer.

To save bandwidth, Melchior may pause the stream after a long period with inactive connected users in the channel. Before it pauses, it will post a message in the channel asking whether anyone is still listening, with a Keep playing button. If nobody presses it, the stream stops, Melchior leaves the channel, and a Start the radio button is provided. Pressing it from inside the channel starts the radio again, and so does anyone joining the channel.

Note: Melchior needs Manage Channel and Set Voice Channel Status in the Radio VC to show Join to listen while the channel is empty. Melchior grants these to itself when you pick the channel, but if your server has removed them from Melchior's role, you will need to allow them on the channel yourself.

Note: Melchior will occasionally leave the voice channel and rejoin a few seconds later. This happens when Melchior updates, and is entirely normal.

Advanced FeaturesAdmin

Melchior has a set of advanced tools aimed at power users and clans that use it extensively. They add extra depth to how you run and manage your server. Most clans do not need them, and the default settings are well developed for everyday clan activities.

There are three places advanced features live:

  • Page 3 of /setupserver.
  • In /createop and /editops, there is an Advanced Options button.
  • On /createop itself, in the Save Draft and View Saved Drafts buttons.

The subsections below explain the advanced features you can use in those areas.

Campaigns

We have found that some clans love creating extended narratives and using multiple Orders for their clan to experience that narrative. So we designed Campaigns to let you connect multiple Orders together into a series. Each Campaign gets a webpage on HD2Clans.com, and you can customize how that page looks, along with creating later Orders that get added to the Campaign. Your Campaign page automatically combines stats across every Part, and shows a combined section with every award you created for all the Orders in that Campaign.

Each Order is automatically numbered in the Campaign based on when it launches, so Part 1 is always the first one chronologically. An Order that has not started yet carries no number at all, until it launches.

You can create a Campaign either through Melchior or on HD2Clans.com.

  1. Through Melchior: in /createop, open Advanced Options, choose New Campaign, and give it a name. The Order you are creating automatically becomes Part 1. When that Order launches, the Campaign webpage is created and appears on your clan's webpage.
  2. On the website: go to your clan's page, hit Edit Page, and find the + New Campaign button there to create a Campaign and go to its page. From that page you can add past Orders to the Campaign, or create new Orders and add them later.

Adding an Order to a Campaign. Open Advanced Options on /createop or /editops, and pick the Campaign. You can move an Order between Campaigns, or take it out of one, from this same menu. Removing an Order from a Campaign never changes anything about the Order itself.

Chain Launch. Campaigns involve multiple Orders. In most cases, you should launch them normally as Immediate or Scheduled. But, there is a unique setting available for Server Orders in a Campaign, called Chain Launch. If you want to make a Server Order in a Campaign start on its own, you can use Chain Launch to make it automatically begin a set number of hours after the previous Part closes. To do this, use /createop to create an Order, choose your Campaign in Advanced Options, then set Chain Launch to anywhere from 1 to 336 hours (14 days). Leave it blank if you would rather launch the Order immediately or schedule it.

Some ground rules about Chain Launch for Campaign Parts:

  • Clan Orders cannot Chain Launch. Chain Launch is only available for Server Orders. Clan Orders can still be Parts of campaigns; however, to avoid launch-logic problems, Clan Orders cannot be set to Chain Launch automatically after a previous Part closes. Clan Orders should be launched normally, using Immediate or Scheduled options, instead.
  • Only one Part can be waiting at a time, so you cannot queue up multiple Orders in a Campaign to Chain Launch. To be clear, you can have multiple Orders in a Campaign going at the same time; it is Chain Launch that is limited to one at a time.
  • The delay counts from when the previous Part closes.

Chain Launch is entirely optional. You never have to chain launch any Orders, and a Campaign works perfectly fine as a set of Orders you launch normally.

Customizing your Campaign Webpage

On your Campaign webpage, hit Edit Page to give it a briefing, an image carousel, a Campaign logo, and a choice of page background. You can set the Orders list to sort oldest-first or newest-first. Your clan page also gains a Campaigns section with a card for each one, and entering edit mode there lets you reorder how they appear.

Order Drafts

Building an Order can take a while: picking Metrics, writing a Briefing, choosing a Campaign. If you cannot finish right now, or you want to prepare an Order ahead of time without launching it yet, you can have Melchior save your progress as an Order Draft.

While you are building an Order in /createop, hit Save Draft instead of Launch Operation. That Order is stored exactly as you left it.

You can keep up to 5 saved Drafts at a time. To see them, open /createop and hit View Saved Drafts, where you can load one back into /createop to keep working on it, or delete one you no longer need.

Note: The Drafts list is per-person and per-server. If you are a Melchior Admin of multiple clan servers, you have a different Draft list for each server.

Note: If you already have 5 Drafts saved, Melchior will ask you to delete one before it can save another.

Extra Statboard Channels

Every server is required to have one Primary Statboard Channel, and by default every statboard goes there.

Some clans want greater control over where statboards go: to organize Division statboards, to keep their allies' Clan Order statboards in a separate channel, and so on. The Extra Statboard Channels feature gives you that flexibility. It lets you register up to four more statboard channels, for five destinations in total, and then choose to send particular Orders to particular channels.

Register your Extra Statboard Channels on page 3 of /setupserver. Melchior checks that it can actually post to that channel and tells you about any issues. Once you have at least one Extra Statboard Channel, two things become available:

  1. Per-Order control. The Advanced Options button on /createop and /editops gains a Statboard Channel picker. Use it to choose between your Primary Statboard Channel and any of your registered Extra channels. This applies to your own Orders, and it also lets you pick destinations when you use /reviewops.
  2. A standing rule for opted-in Clan Orders. Page 3 of /setupserver also has a setting called Default for other clans' orders. Set that, and any Order your clan joins through /reviewops goes to that channel instead of your Primary. That covers Alliance Orders as well.

You can also move individual statboards at any time after the fact. Run /editops or /reviewops, depending on whether you created the Order or opted into it, pick the Order, and use Move Statboard to send its statboard somewhere else.

Staged Goal Orders

A normal Goal Order shows all its Metrics at once and closes when they are all met. Some clans want to run them in a sequence instead, with each Goal only unlocking after the previous one is finished. A Staged Goal Order does exactly that.

You create one with /createop, picking a Goal Order, then hitting the Staged button in the Advanced Options panel. Your members see the whole flow on the statboard from day one, with the later Stages marked LOCKED, so there is a visible road ahead.

For a Staged Goal Order, /submitreport only shows the Metric matching the Stage that is currently open. In other words, for a normal Goal Order with 3 Metrics you would see 3 fields to fill in, but if it is a Staged Goal Order you would only see one at a time, for whichever Stage the Order is currently on.

When the active Stage's goal is met, Melchior pings your admins in the Command Center and an admin can confirm the advance. If nobody confirms, it advances on its own after 24 hours, so a Stage cannot stall out the Order.

Note: to maintain logical integrity, advancing past a Stage settles it permanently. It does not re-open if someone deletes a report afterward and drops the total back below that Stage's goal.

Goal Order Deadlines

By default a Goal Order runs until its goals are met, however long that takes. If you want a time limit on your Goal Order, you can give it a Deadline. Find this in the Advanced Options menu when creating a Goal Order.

You set a Duration in hours, from 1 hour up to 720 (which is 30 days). Everyone else sees the Deadline on the statboard. The Order then closes on goals met or deadline reached, whichever comes first.

You can add, change or remove a Deadline from /editops while the Order is still open.

Protips

Things that are not obvious but are worth knowing once your clan is running properly. This section grows as more of them turn up.

Run Specific Commands in Specific Channels

By default Melchior keeps most commands locked to your Reports channel, which keeps the rest of your server tidy. If you want finer control than that, Discord has a built-in permission system for bot commands that is considerably more precise, and you can hand control over to it.

The result is per-command, per-channel, per-role control. You could allow /submitreport only in your Reports channel, let /clanjoin and /mycareer be used anywhere, and block every Melchior command from your memes channel.

Step 1: Unlock Melchior's commands

Run /setupserver and switch Channel Restrictions to OFF. This stops Melchior enforcing its own channel rule and hands the decision to Discord.

Step 2: Open Discord's Integrations panel

On the Discord desktop app, open Server Settings, then Integrations, scroll to Melchior, and click Manage.

Step 3: Configure access

That panel gives you three layers:

  • Roles & Members decides who can use Melchior at all
  • Channels decides where it can be used, server-wide
  • Per-command overrides let you set different rules for individual commands, which override the server-wide defaults

Note: a red X on @everyone or All channels removes Melchior's commands for every member and every channel that is not on the list underneath it. Discord does not show those members an error: the commands simply disappear from their / menu. If that happens, see A command is missing.

Discord's own documentation covers the Integrations panel in full if you want the details.

This adds to Melchior's rules rather than replacing them. Admin commands still require the @Melchior Admin role, blacklisted members are still blacklisted, and everything else works as before. What you gain is extra precision over where commands can be used and by whom.

Your Clan Page Has More Options Than You Think

Everything on your clan's page at HD2Clans.com can be customized, and all of it is free. Log in, go to your clan page, and press Edit Page in the top right.

It is worth scrolling through the whole editor to review all the options available to you. Many sections of the page have their own options covering what appears, how it is ordered, and what a visitor sees when they land. Most of those options are invisible until you open the editor.

Troubleshooting

"This interaction failed"

Discord shows this when a menu, panel or button has been sitting open too long, and occasionally for no reason at all. Run the command again. It almost always works the second time, and there is nothing wrong with your server or your clan when it happens.

A command is missing

Start with what you are seeing. Find the description below that matches, and follow the steps under it.

The command shows up, but Melchior replies with a message instead

This is not actually a missing command. Melchior is telling you why the command did not run, and the message says what to do next.

  • "Please use this command in #channel": your server has Channel Restrictions turned on in /setupserver, so Melchior only accepts commands in your Reports channel and Command Center. Run it again in the channel the message links to. If you would rather commands worked everywhere, an admin can switch Channel Restrictions to OFF in /setupserver.
  • "This command is only usable if you hold the @Melchior Admin role": it is an Admin command. Admin commands appear in everyone's / menu, but only members holding @Melchior Admin can run them. If you are a clan leader, ask whoever runs your server to give you the role. See Leadership.

Your members cannot see Melchior's commands, or they only appear in some channels

If some of your members cannot see Melchior commands in the slash command list on Discord, or if commands only appear in some channels/for some users, the root cause is almost always a Discord permission rather than Melchior itself. When Discord blocks a command it does not show an error: the command is simply not present at all in the / menu (i.e., when you type / to begin using a command, you won't see Melchior in that list).

Note: Discord's Administrator permission skips every check below. So if you have a moderator/administrator role on your server, it might make it so that commands work for you but not your members. You can ask a member without admin rights to test it for you.

There are three places to check:

  1. The @everyone role. Go to Server Settings, then Roles, and click @everyone at the top of the page. On desktop, open the Permissions tab; on mobile, just scroll down. Find the Apps Permissions section and make sure Use Application Commands is turned on. This is the most common cause. Once it is on, your members will see Melchior's commands right away.
  2. Melchior's Command Permissions. Go to Server Settings, then Integrations, and click Melchior. The Command Permissions area has two lists, and both matter:
    • Roles & members: @everyone should have the green check. If it has a red X, only the roles listed underneath it can use Melchior, and a member without one of those roles will not see any commands at all.
    • Channels: All channels should have the green check. If it has a red X, Melchior's commands only work in the channels listed underneath it, so your Reports channel and Statboards channel both need to be on that list.
Below those is a Commands list. A command marked 'Has Overrides' has its own rules, and they win over both lists above, so make sure you don't have any Overrides set unless you're absolutely certain you want them.
  3. Channel and category permissions. Right-click the channel, or the category it sits in, and choose Edit Channel, then Permissions. Make sure none of your members' roles has a red X on Use Application Commands. A red X here overrides the role setting from step 1, but only in that channel.

One command is missing, but the rest are there

There are two usual causes:

  1. It belongs to a Module. Module commands only appear once an admin turns that Module on in /setupmodules. After it is turned on, the commands can take up to an hour to show up in Discord, and sometimes need you to restart Discord before they appear. See Modules.
  2. It has its own override. Go to Server Settings, then Integrations, click Melchior, and look for that command in the Commands list. If it is marked 'Has Overrides', click it and check which roles and channels it allows.

Melchior's commands are missing only for you

If everyone else in your server can see Melchior's commands and you cannot, Discord's app on your device usually has not caught up yet.

  1. Restart Discord. Close it fully and reopen it. On desktop, pressing Ctrl+R reloads it.
  2. Try a different device. If the commands appear on your phone but not your computer, or the other way around, the problem is that one app. We have seen this clear up on its own within about a day.
  3. Check your own roles. If neither of those helps, go through the three places listed under Your members cannot see Melchior's commands above, looking at the roles you hold.

My statboard is not updating

Statboards update as reports arrive, and Melchior re-checks every board every few minutes, so a board that is a little behind will usually fix itself before you have finished reading this.

If a board has clearly stopped for more than two hours, the most common cause is that Melchior lost permission to post or edit in your Statboards channel, which can happen after a permissions change or a channel being recreated. Check that Melchior can still see and send messages there. If the channel was deleted, run /setupserver and set a new Statboards channel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the site need me to log in with Discord?

Melchior is a Discord bot, so our system is built on clans being things that happen in Discord: the clan you are in, the orders you joined, the reports you filed, the awards you hold. To tie in with these more easily, HD2Clans.com login essentially just asks Discord who you are when you press the Login with Discord button.

When you press it, you are sent to Discord. You sign in on Discord's own site, and Discord asks whether you are happy for HD2Clans to know who you are. If you say yes, Discord hands HD2Clans back a pass carrying your username, your user ID, and your avatar and banner, and nothing else. This standard is called OAuth2, and it is the same thing happening whenever a website offers to sign you in with Google or Apple.

Your Discord password never comes near this site. It is not seen, not received, and there is nothing here to store. On login, we don't get your email, your other servers, your messages, your friends list, or absolutely anything else beyond that username, user ID, and avatar/banner. The user ID is the one we actually need: it is how Melchior recognizes you as the same person across every clan, order and report, and it is not something we can do without.

That is better for you for several reasons:

  • You have one less password to invent, remember, or reuse somewhere you should not.
  • Whatever already protects your Discord account, including two-factor authentication, protects your HD2Clans account automatically.
  • If HD2Clans were ever breached, we have no critical data of yours to steal.
  • You can cut off access yourself at any time, from Discord's Authorized Apps settings. You do not have to ask anyone.

It makes HD2Clans much more secure, and keeps your account secure, too. If you want more info on how we manage our data, check out our Privacy Policy.

Why does Melchior let people report their own numbers?

It is by far the fastest way to run an Order, and because it can track things no automated system ever could.

You already trust your clan. Melchior is built for organized communities. The people reporting are the people you play with, in your own server, under their own names. Every report is attached to whoever filed it, so nothing is anonymous, and leadership can review or remove any of it with /moderate. So our model is trust AND a paper trail you can review, too.

It takes seconds. Finish a mission, type your numbers, done. That matters more than it sounds: we all win when the reporting system is easy to use, because many users simply do not enjoy using stat-tracking systems that are more finicky than that.

You can track anything you can imagine. This is the real prize. A Metric is just a name you chose and a number, so it does not have to be something the game counts. Kills, samples and missions, obviously. But equally, "FRVs driven off a cliff" and "Bile Titans killed with One True Flag" are 100% doable too. If your clan can count it, your clan can run an Order on it. No automated reader will ever manage that.

Doesn't that just lead to people making up numbers?

Far less than you'd expect. Hundreds of clans have run Orders through Melchior, with thousands of players and more than a quarter of a million reports between them. That is a big enough sample to see trends and statistics clearly, and the shape is this: your clanmates, like you, mostly just want to do right by the people they play with.

It also helps that reporting is not done in private. A report lands on a statboard your whole server can see, under your name, next to everyone else's.

Of the few reports that do turn out to be wrong, the large majority are honest mistakes: a number typed with an extra zero, a metric counted differently than leadership meant it, a mission accidentally logged twice. These are easily fixed: players can run /undoreport, then file the corrected one. See Fixing Mistakes.

That leaves only a very small minority who ever try to cause an issue. They are rare enough that each one gets handled with one of the many remedies built into Melchior:

  • Leadership can strip the reports with /moderate, and your Order's totals instantly correct themselves.
  • You can blacklist the player from using Melchior in your server. See Blacklists.
  • You can remove them from your server entirely, the same as any other member who is not welcome.
  • Anyone doing it repeatedly, or across several clans, is liable to be banned from Melchior network-wide.

Why doesn't Melchior read mission screenshots?

It does read screenshots, in the place where they earn their keep. /updatestats reads your career stats straight off the images you upload, /mycard puts them on your Player Card, and Delta Orders are built entirely on that. What Melchior deliberately does not do is make you screenshot every single mission, and that is a decision we made after testing it with real user groups.

It breaks whenever the game changes. Every new objective, icon or layout Arrowhead ships is something the reader has to be taught before it works again. Your clan should not have to wait on that to run an Order.

It still gets things wrong, and someone still has to fix it. Reading text off images is notoriously fickle. A slightly cropped screenshot, an odd screen size, a console player photographing their TV, all of it makes the reading worse. And every misread means a human looking at the picture to decide what it should have said, or telling the player to send another one. Both outcomes are less fun than just playing Helldivers with your friends. Automated reading does not remove the human from the loop, it just moves them somewhere more annoying.

It punishes console players. Getting a screenshot off a PlayStation or Xbox and into Discord is a genuine chore, and your console members would pay it on every mission just to take part.

So when you do want numbers that come straight from the game, that is exactly what a Delta Order is for. For everything else, typing three numbers is faster, more flexible, and trusts your members the way you already trust them to be in your server.
