During the the Illuminate Invasion on Calypso in December of 2184, Super Citizen Machosnuggles managed to organize a ragtag militia composed of local enforcers, civilian volunteers, and disgraced Helldivers. Due to the invasion, 'training' consisted of real world missions with high risk and little room for error. This formed them into an unorthadox and chaotic, yet effective fighting force. During the defense of Calypso, they were given the unflattering nickname 'Diaper Division' in some Ministry of Truth broadcasts, due to the opinion that they were undisciplined and reckless. However, this opinion changed when Helldivers across the galaxy showed their respect and support for the Diaper Division, many saying that if they had to go through what the division goes through, they would be wearing a diaper too. As a result, the nickname Diaper Division stuck and is worn as a badge of honor amongst those in its ranks.
