Members of the Siege Defence Section have basically turned the old-Earth movie line "YOU – SHALL NOT – PASS!" into their whole life's philosophy. No matter how many endless hordes the enemy will throw at them, with the call "Hold fast!" they lock in and will not move until every citizen is safe and every enemy dead.
