V4.5 - Player Card Overhaul, Leadership Tools, and Support the Network!

Melchior keeps growing - we are closing in on 500 registered clans on HD2Clans.com! Clans have already used Melchior to create more than 650 operations for their communities, and Melchior has processed well over 85,000 user-submitted reports, with no signs of slowing down! With all this growth, it's time for some new updates.

The V4.5 Update is focused on three things: making your Player Cards look better than ever; giving clan leaders more powerful tools to manage their communities; and helping you get your clan news to more communities! We're also opening up a friendly way to donate and support the growth of Melchior and HD2Clans.com - every feature will always be free, but our insane growth is driving up infrastructure costs too! If you'd like to chip in, supporters get exclusive cosmetics on their Player Card and user profile webpage as a thank you from us.

Support HD2Clans & Melchior

Every feature in Melchior and on HD2Clans.com is free, and if we have something to say about it, they always will be. No paywalled features, no paying to unlock customization or extra usage, or any of that stuff. That said, running a platform across hundreds of Discord servers, a website, high res card generation pipeline, databases, and CDN infrastructure is starting to add up. With nearly 500 clans in the system and traffic growing every week, we're opening up a simple way to help keep things running: the Contribute page.

Before we get to that - contributions to support HD2Clans & Melchior will be entirely voluntary. You do not need to pay to access anything. In fact, before you even throw any money our way, please take care of yourself first, and your friends & family, and maybe even consider using it to commission some talented artists around the community. If, after all that, you still want to help us keep the lights on, here's how it works.

You can either donate any amount, as a one-time contribution, or you can pick a small monthly subscription if you want to contribute regularly. Here's the three contribution types:

• One-time donation (any amount) - You'll receive a permanent Supporter tag on your Player Card and your user profile page on HD2Clans.com. Donate once, keep it forever. If you want to pitch us any amount, big or small, you'll always be identified as a supporter!
• Tier 1 ($2/month) - You'll get a Supporter tag, plus a Tier 1 badge displayed on your Player Card and profile.
• Tier 2 ($5/month) - You'll get a Supporter tag, plus a slightly fancier Tier 2 badge displayed on your card and profile.

Payments are handled securely through Stripe. If you cancel a subscription, your Supporter tag stays permanently; only the tier badge expires. You can manage or cancel anytime from the Contribute page. None of your payment data or billing info touches the HD2clans site database; all that stays securely with Stripe.

Player Cards

Player Cards are receiving some neat upgrades. Several new features are landing at once:

Division Logos now Available!

Want to customize more of your playercard? If your clan uses Divisions, you can now choose whether your Player Card displays your clan logo or your Division logo as the card watermark. Head to Edit Profile > Player Card on HD2Clans.com to pick which one you want. If your clan doesn't use Divisions, your player card will still show your clan logo like before.

Top-25 Global Gold Ranks

Are you one of the hallowed Helldivers in the Top 25 globally for any of your stats? Previously, only the top 3 players globally received the gold rank highlight on their Player Card. That's been expanded to the top 25, to match the fact that the Global Leaderboards display the top 25 players for any given stat. If you're in the top 25 globally, your rank now glows gold on your playercard. Clan-level rankings still highlight the top 3.

Timestamps

Every Player Card now includes a small UTC timestamp in the corner showing exactly when it was generated. This is useful for verifying how recent someone's stats are, and for tracking your own progression over time.

WebP Format

Behind the scenes, Player Cards are now generated in WebP instead of PNG. You probably won't notice a visual difference, but the files are 80-90% smaller, which means faster loading on the website, faster delivery in Discord, and less bandwidth as your playercard gets zipped around all our backend services.

Yup, this is example data just to show how the new card looks. I'd be worried if someone actually had 2400 hours in-game and only 4,892 missions played...

Sync your News to The Super Citizen's Bulletin!

If you use the Newsletter Module in Melchior, you already know you can use the /news command to submit your weekly news to the FA Newsletter. Now, after you finish your news, you can also choose to forward it to our friends at The Super Citizen's Bulletin!

The Super Citizen's Bulletin posts weekly on Sundays to communities across Facebook, Instagram, Discord, and more! This new feature will let your clan's news reach even more audiences.

Clan Management on the Website

Improved User Management

The Manage Clan > Users tab on HD2Clans.com has been upgraded:

• Search - Find any of your clan members by username or Discord ID.
• Sort - Sort your members by username, report count, award count, order participation, or blacklist status. Drill down quickly to just the members you're trying to find.
• Filter by Division - If your clan has Divisions, you can filter your Users list by Divisions.
• Pagination - Search and sort settings persist as you page through your user list.

These tools make it much easier to manage large clans without scrolling through lengthy lists.

Leadership Management

For clans that don't have Melchior installed in a Discord server (web-only clans), you can now grant and revoke Clan Leader status directly from the Users tab. Select a member, click Manage Leadership, and promote or demote them, with no Discord role required.

For clans that do have Melchior installed (and this is most of you), leadership continues to work through the @Melchior Admin role in Discord, syncing automatically. The website will show you this information so you always know who has access.

Leadership Streamlined

The /clanlead command has been removed. It was a legacy approval queue that required manual website review - it has been very slow and unnecessary now that leadership is handled automatically.

Here's how leadership works going forward:

• Clans with Melchior installed: Assign the @Melchior Admin role in Discord. Melchior syncs it automatically within one hour. Remove the role to revoke access.
• Web-only clans: Use the new Manage Leadership feature on HD2Clans.com (see above).

The /help command in Melchior and the Melchior Guide have both been updated to reflect this simplified system. No more "legacy" labels or confusing dual paths.
