Introducing Stories: A Home for Helldivers Writing

Whew, June was a doozy, wasn't it? Together we raised more than $270K for charity during the HEROES '26 event, and we keep growing - we now have over 1,600 registered clans and nearly 16,000 Helldivers on HD2Clans.com!

We have watched so many of you expressing your creativity throughout the community - and are excited give you a home for your lore, histories, creative writing, and more. Introducing Stories, a brand new section of the website built specifically for all you writers out there!

What is a Story?

A Story is longform, in-universe writing that you author and own. Whether it's the origin of your clan, a dramatic write-up of your last operation, a character profile for your favorite Helldiver, or a slice-of-life dispatch about Super Earth, Stories gives it a real home with its own page and its own URL.

You tag each Story with a type so readers can find what they're after: Lore, Battle Report, Character Profile, Unit History, RP Dialogue, or Other.

A simple, distraction-free editor

Writing a Story is easy. The editor is block-based and completely text-focused, so there's nothing to fight with. Add text blocks, drop in styled quote blocks for that in-universe transmission feel, or use dividers to break up sections. Everything saves as you go, in case you need to roll something back.

Organize into Series

Working on an epic? By making a Series, you can group multiple Stories into an ordered saga, so readers can move from Part 1 straight through to the finale. A Series can be a solo project or a team effort; if you want to work together on a Series, you can invite others on as Collaborators or Admins and build a shared saga together, with everyone contributing their own chapters. And if you'd rather write together on a single Story instead, you can invite co-authors to collaborate on it directly.

Get your work seen

Publishing a Story puts it on your author profile and into the Stories page, where the whole community can discover it. The main page surfaces stories a few different ways so good work rises to the top: a Rising feed driven by recent activity, an all-time Most Commended list, a Fresh feed of the newest posts, and a daily Dispatch spotlight.

Readers can commend a Story they enjoy, which is a simple one-tap endorsement that also doubles as a bookmark on their personal reading shelf. It's the community's way of saying "this one's worth reading."

Integrating into your clan page

You've put love into your clan pages, and now if your clan has writers, they can request to feature any of their published Stories on your clan's page, giving your clan a proper showcase of its best writing. Clan leaders can use 'Edit Page' and scroll down to their Stories section to control what appears on their page, and you always keep ownership of your work. If you are a big fan of your clan's Stories, you can even reorganize your clan page to move your Stories section higher up on your page.

Maybe you want to use this to post some long-form unit lore, or highlight recent after-action reports, or give your visitors a place to learn about your space station. Like everything else on the site, it's in your hands. Go get writing over at the Stories page!

A few ground rules

Stories are for in-universe Helldivers content only: clan lore, personas, activities, and RP. Keep it in-universe (no real-life or personal content), no links or advertising, and the usual rules against offensive material apply. You'll agree to a short publishing agreement the first time you publish, and site staff can remove anything that breaks the rules or seems too off-base.

Site Pricing Update

HD2Clans has more than doubled in size since April! Back in April, we boasted about hosting more than 750 clans and 1,300 operations, and in just three months since then, we're sitting at 1500+ clans and nearly 3,000 operations run via Melchior - with a ton more infrastructure churning underneath it all!

Because we've grown so much, it's important to reiterate our pricing policies, in a world where communities out there are increasingly making features pay-to-access. All features in Melchior-1, and everything on HD2Clans.com (including entirely new content like the Stories system), are purely supported by folks who believe in our mission and want to help keep it going - without us having to resort to paywalling features to keep the lights on.

We would like to thank our 22 Tier 1 and Tier 2 members who are graciously keeping the site afloat and ensuring we can keep building features like these for the whole community to enjoy!
