For 40 years, the war has raged on, a conflict whereby three hostile alien species are hell-bent on a single goal: the total annihilation of the human species. Luckily, the fighting spirit of man has not decayed since the last great war on Earth. We are now stronger than ever; man, woman and child alike are encouraged to try their strengths in the ultimate test - to have the courage to defend Super Earth.

The Super Earth Colonial Guard was established in 2039 at the end of the Last Great War. The Colonial Guard was a unique branch of service similar to old-earth's United States National Guard, tasked with protection of the farthest out of Super Earth's colonies, where the light of Lady Liberty dwindles in the vast and open stellar frontier. The First Galactic War left many dead in its wake, and while humanity triumphed, many however sought more than survival, and saw Super Earth's proclaimed triumph as a desperate survival.
On November 22nd, 2099, seven Weirinites associated with an extremist group named Veritas Populorum entered the Gunvald Corporation Admin Building claiming to be breach testing detail. They entered the twenty-eighth floor at 1408, and left the Admin Building at 1533, with no recorded activity in that timeframe. On the 24th, the same group entered Tether #3 of the planet's Space Tether Docks, staying for an hour before departing the planet onboard a merchant vessel. That same day, a second group of five Vera Populorum members were seen at the Gunvald Senate Office at 1221. At 1113, November 24th, three sets of Compound-5 explosive charges were detonated, collapsing all three buildings and killing over 7,000 civilians. At 1128 the Gunvald administration closed all off-planet travel, and were holding incoming ships at the Space Tethers until further notice. At 1235, a Horizon-Class Pathfinder being held at Space Tether #2 opened fire on the structure of the tether, sending 3/4 of it crashing down to the surface. An estimated 22,000 were killed in this action alone. Gunvald swiftly issued martial law, but only four of the twelve perpetrators were captured, with one commiting suicide before authorities could reach them, and the rest going into hiding. Around 30,000 people lost their lives that day, and two weeks later the Vera Populorum movement claimed responsibility for the attacks, and on December 30th, 2099, The Weir declared itself independent of Super Earth, as The Republic of The Weir. In 2101, several colonies rose up in rebellion, which is now considered the first years of the decades-long conflict known as the Frontier Wars. Two systems declared independence that year: Kuper, and The Weir. These planets rose up and took arms against Super Earth, and the Colonial Guard was the first to respond. The Guard held ground planetside on The Weir for months, fighting a grueling war of attrition, but Kuper was lost with little resistance. By 2102, the Guard had lost both systems, and three more had rebelled as well, Kharst, Tien Kwan, and Tibit. Throughout 2102 there was a mostly stable frontline, but the mounting losses and ineffectiveness by the Guard led to its reformation on January 8th, 2103, into the Colonial Marine Corps. The Colonial Guard's structure, ranks, and even purpose were completely overhauled to be a force-in-readiness, able to deploy to distant colonies quickly and respond to any terrain with ease, forming the vanguard of other SEAF forces during orbit-to-ground assault campaigns. By 2104 most of the Southwestern sectors had rebelled, now having enough experience and support to organise from wanton warlords into nations with governments and standing armies, as well as relations with one another. Five years of uprisings had given any other local governors with independent aspirations a very clear message: Super Earth can't push back. In 2106, the newly-formed Colonial Marines had been faring much better than their predecessor. April of 2106 saw the newly founded Marines launch an invasion campaign against Kuper, which was a major victory that kickstarted the Marines' push for retaking much of the rebel worlds. In early 2107 the Marines successfully liberated Kuper and next set their eyes on Tien Kwan, a rocky ice world. The Marines deployed to the surface and were met with harsh resistance, eventually engulfing the planet into a 5 year war tour which would become famous as the place where many famous war heroes like John Brasch were formed, as well as many battle-hardened veteran units like the 75th Shock Infantry Corps and 41st Hell Battalion. Tien Kwan and other such conflicts became known as "Crucible Wars", turning fresh greenhorns into some of the galaxy's finest troops. After the costly head-on fighting in the battle for Tien Kwan, the Marines focused on a more diverse approach to the fighting; establish a bulkhead, make contact with local loyalist cells, and use their knowledge of the region to conduct hit&run operations that are able to use heavier ordinance to much better effect. The next major theatre of the war would be the Hydra Sector, as all three planets rebelled, forming the United Independent Systems, or the UIS. The UIS garnered much attention from nearby sectors, many of which would join them, and in their own way, form a quite successful interstellar body under one government (being a democratic socialist nation). Super Earth quickly and unanimously declared war on the UIS and deployed some 500,000 troops to the region in 2115, in what was held as the longest campaign of the war. The UIS was the last separatist faction to be reunited with Super Earth under the Treaty of New Stockholm, which also established new laws allowing the execution of POWs without trial, among other concessions. The front with the UIS lasted 60 years and killed over 10 billion SEAF soldiers by the end of the war, making it the single most deadly campaign that Super Earth had ever fought before the Second Galactic War. The rest of the galaxy was mostly stable by the 2120s, and while a few rebel cells would form provisional governments, most of them collapsed internally, leading to insurgency being the favoured method of dissent by most rebel forces in the Southwestern Sectors, which while nation states rose and fell, still persisted in its dissidence. In late 2132, SECM Major Frederick Seeg defected to join a growing rebel insurgent cell on Kharst, named the United Kharst Front, or UKF. He quickly rose through their ranks, granting them an unparalleled foresight into SECM operations. By 2133 he was a leader of the UKF in his own right, often joining his comrades on sabotage operations. In early 2134 Seeg created a splinter faction of his own, breaking off from the UKF to form Vera Libertas. The VL would go on to be one of the most notorious and high-profile terror cells in the entire war. Vera Libertas would wage war on a twofold front: a campaign of guerilla warfare, and a campaign of terror bombings. The latter of the two was one of the first "wake up calls" to the citizens safely within the warmth of the core worlds. These bombings would see the war finally brought to Super Earth's front door, with one attack even striking the homeworld herself, a public outcry was swift and its message clear: end this war, whatever the cost. By the 2140s the SECM had retaken most of the Southwestern sectors and peace was starting to flourish in these long-ravaged systems. In 2146 there was only 9 open fronts in the galaxy (a staggering 12 less than the previous decade) which included: the UIS (controlled 5 planets at the time), Draupnir, Brink-2, New Stockholm, Outpost 32, Fenrir III, Vera Libertas (controlled 3 planets at the time), Mantis, and Durgen. The later half of the 2150s saw the liberation of Fenrir III, Mantis, Durgen, and Draupnir, leaving only a handful of rebel systems past their prime- the ideal point for a singular, all out push into remaining rebel territories. This momentous task was dubbed OPERATION: One Final Effort. This operation is to date the largest deployment of SEAF forces bar only the Battle for Cyberstan. While hundreds of thousands were killed in just under two months across 13 systems, the operation was a resounding success, resulting in the complete liberation of all but one front: the UIS. Although the UIS was severely crippled by OPERATION: One Final Effort, it still remained fighting in fiercely defended holdouts, the last of which would finally fall on October 20th 2163, and the Treaty of New Stockholm signed on March 27th 2164 by all surviving rebel leaders and command staffs- all of which were subsequently executed for Crimes Against Democracy and Treason of the Highest Degree. At last, the 65 year long war came to a close, and the billions of dead and missing over half a century has left its mark. Security heightened, government control increased, anti-dissident operations soared, and the Ministry of Truth being given even an more iron grip on the populous to maintain the order and ensure that a conflict as terrible as the Frontier Wars never happens again.
