Born as an interwar Liberation-class escort, this vessel was built for rugged anti-dissident patrols. Though local garrisons praised its durability, supply chain failures forced its retirement to a mothball yard. That changed in mid-2184. Following the devastating Automaton Resurgence, Hellsing Heavy Industries was contracted to refit the surviving hulls for an experimental Helldiver Expeditionary Force.
The Wayward Interceptor is the third modernized frigate delivered to the 651st Battalion’s Fleet. Re-engineered as a premier fleet screening vessel, it uses light railcannons, dual-purpose batteries, and a Laser PDS to form an impenetrable defensive umbrella for vulnerable Super Destroyers. Yet, it packs a deceptive punch, capable of crippling an Automaton Fleet Destroyer or Illuminate Overship. Assigned to the 1st Armored Division ("Buffalo Divers"), it ensures low-orbital supremacy so the armor below can crush the enemies of Democracy. "Intercepting tyranny, delivering liberation."
