Commissioned in 2185, the SES Sovereign of Midnight cycled through several designations before settling on its current name. Following assignment to the 808th Division's Blackout Unit on May 1, 2186, the vessel underwent tactical refitting to support deep-strike operations.

Lieutenant General Nath "Specter" Vane commands the Sovereign as both operational headquarters and strike platform. Following promotion to Blackout Lieutenant General on July 1, 2186, the ship underwent additional upgrades to enhance command capabilities and tactical precision.

The vessel deploys directly to hostile worlds, providing command coordination while serving as a precision instrument for eliminating high-value targets. The Sovereign excels at rapid insertion and extraction—allowing Specter to lead operations from the front and withdraw when objectives are met. Rather than sustained engagement, the ship specializes in coordinated strikes and tactical dominance.
