The Grafton's main job is taking the heat and absorb all the damage that otherwise would be fatal for other ships. This is all possible thanks to the upgraded shield mounted by the Engineers back at Solghast, together with the laser turrets working as both a CIWS system, and a close range offensive attack capable of cutting through any "undemocratic" material.
