Welcome to Part 2 of our V5.0 teaser series! Part 1 covered the site redesign. This one is all about The Hangar, starting here with the feature that makes every ship in the fleet fully yours.
Every Ship Starts Factory-Stock
When new ships roll out of the yards at Hellsing Heavy Industries, they come factory-stock. And depending on the ship's size, they will already show off your clan name, the ship's name, and/or your clan logo, right on their hull, right when you acquire them. That's right - we have designed the world's first clan-branded ship system for the Helldivers 2 community.

Check out the Ship Card above, and take a close look at that Dreadnought: our system places your ship name, clan logo, and in some cases, your clan name, all directly onto your ships. Ship Cards also display info about your ship, and the Specifications and Armaments for that ship's class.
As your ship completes Deployments, it accumulates XP. That XP does two things: It raises the ship's visible level, which is public on the ship's detail page for everyone to see. And, it unlocks new areas of the ship to paint. You read that right: we are also delivering the world's first ship-customization system for clans, and the Helldivers 2 community.
How the Paint Shop Works
The Paint Shop is a live browser-based ship customization tool. Pick a color, see it on the ship immediately. Adjust the intensity, try a different blend style, swap in a secondary accent, and change Views to see your ship from different angles.
The result: a fleet where your clan's ships can look 100% yours. This entire system is powered by the Freedom Alliance creative team: renders and models provided by Alucard Hellsing and Emps, ship design concepts developed by Efren and Hardshell of the 117th Salamander Regiment, and the fully built HD2Clans tech stack letting you customize in-browser.
Once you've got your ship dialed in, you can generate a Ship Card and share it across the web to show off your clan's ships to the world, and save it to your Clan Hangar page, too.
Each ship class will have its own set of colorable elements - they'll be different for every class. Some will have only a few elements - and some, like the end-game Jutland-class Dreadnought, will have more than 10 paintable elements.
As your clan uses your ships more, you'll unlock the ability to customize its elements - so seeing a fully kitted out ship is a sign of a truly active clan. Will you fly your colors, or get left behind by the clans who actually deploy their ships?
What Comes Next?
Well, I guess we just spoiled the next feature - the Paint Shop is only useful because ships will actually be able to do things. In the next post, we'll talk about the Deployment System, another HD2Clans first - a complete browser-based system that lets your clan deploy its ships across the galaxy to earn the XP that powers all this customization.
Stay tuned.
