The Strigoi-Class Corvette, dubbed the 'Stinger' after it's Captain, was requisitioned as the first official military naval vessel that the HOL could deploy for spacefaring operations. The HOL decided to bestow the rank of Captain to the best non-Helldiver pilot within their ranks; one Adam Harolds, codenamed 'Stinger'.
Having distinguished himself as a top class fighter pilot in multiple campaigns alongside HOL Helldiver forces, Harolds was the only real candidate for Captain that could be chosen.

Still inexperienced as a Naval Captain, Harolds has a lot to learn about leadership and naval combat, he puts his all into his duty and his crew have absolute faith in him.
