Commissioned after Veld’s Hollow, the Udder was the first vessel refitted with Milkdiver cold-storage tanks in place of standard coolant reserves — a decision three separate engineers refused to sign off on, and one that has never once been reversed. Her hull runs white-and-green, her call sign is “Cream One,” and her crew maintains, under oath, that the ship simply performs better when full.

She has never lost an escort. Superstitious crews across the fleet request her for DSS runs, less for her guns than for the rumor that she vents a fine dairy mist through her thrusters during hard burns — never confirmed, never denied, always smelled. Command tried to decommission the tanks twice. Both times, morale reports across the sector dipped so sharply the order was quietly rescinded.
