Part 4 of 4, the finale of our V5.0 teaser series! Here, we cover how your clan grows from a single starter ship to a full fleet: Fleet Points, the Fleet Shop, Fleet Readiness, and your personal Super Destroyer that you can Deploy anywhere.
Welcome to the final entry in our V5.0 teaser series! Part 1 covered the site redesign. Part 2 covered the Paint Shop. Part 3 covered deployments, hull integrity, and crew. This one closes the loop: where ships actually come from, and how your clan grows its fleet over time.
Every successful deployment an Alliance ship completes earns Fleet Points for the clan pool. A hull breach forfeits everything from that run... but clean Deployments bank it all for your clan.
Fleet Points go to the clan, not to individuals. They aren't tradeable, they aren't spendable on anything else, and they don't expire; they accumulate until your clan leadership spends them.
Spend It or Deposit It
Your clan can hold up to 5,000 FP at any time. That's enough to commission your first few ships outright, but as you start eyeing bigger ships, you'll quickly see that the real game is what comes next: Deposits.
A Deposit lets your clan invest your FP toward a specific ship class you want to commission later. Deposited FP doesn't count against your 5,000 cap, so you can keep earning toward ships over time without ever feeling stuck. You can Deposit into multiple classes if you want, and chip away at all of them in parallel.
Deciding what ships your clan should unlock is a great opportunity to get your clan members involved. Every active clan should always have a goal in mind, a ship class they're working toward, and FP flowing toward that goal. When the day comes to commission, when you've got the FP - you click once and the ship is yours.
The Fleet Shop
The Fleet Shop is where the FP goes. At least 10 ship classes are planned, from the nimble Strigoi-Class Corvette up through the mighty Jutland-Class Dreadnought, each with its own role, lore, specifications, and customization regions. Three classes will already be deployed to the Hangar on May 1st: the Super Destroyer, Strigoi-Class, and Jutland-Class, with the next classes releasing shortly after the Hangar opens, including the Liberation-Class Escort Frigate.
Each class unlocks at a set FP price. Once unlocked, some Classes will let you commission additional ships of that same class, giving you flexible options on whether you want to focus on saving toward bigger ships, or expanding your fleet with smaller craft.
The Fleet Shop is powered by the incredible design team at the Freedom Alliance - without whom none of this would be possible!
Early game, you're commissioning corvettes and frigates. Mid-game you're building out cruisers and light carriers. Late-game you're saving toward the biggest capital ships, including the Jutland itself.
Your Super Destroyer: Personal, Not Clan Property
There's one ship that doesn't follow the clan-property rule: the Super Destroyer.
Your Super Destroyer is yours. Every player can commission theirs in the Hangar, whether you're in a clan or not. It levels up with you and follows you between clans automatically. Change clans and the SD goes with you, keeping all its XP.
While you're in a clan, the Super Destroyer affiliates with that clan too. And while it's actively deployed, it contributes to your clan's Fleet Readiness: a multiplier on all the Fleet Points your clan's Alliance ships earn from their deployments. The more of your members have their Super Destroyers actively deployed, the higher the Readiness multiplier climbs - enough to make a noticeable difference over time, but not so much that our smallest clans will ever be left behind.
Crucially, Fleet Readiness caps at a reasonable number of active Super Destroyers. A 12-person clan with everyone flying can reach the same ceiling as a five-hundred-person clan. Every clan benefits equally at the top end, so smaller clans are not locked out of a bonus... even if you have just one Super Destroyer going out there, you're already multiplying your FP gains.
The Long Game
There's no one right path. Some clans will go wide: a swarm of cheap corvettes keeping constant presence across the galaxy. Some will go tall, saving for capital ships early. Some will focus a single class. Every clan's fleet composition is going to end up looking a little different, and that's the goal of the Freedom Alliance Navy - because every clan is different, and your Clan Hangars will reflect that.
Oh, and speaking of different... did you think that your Clan Hangar would only be able to feature ships that the Freedom Alliance Navy commissioned for you?
Auxiliary Ships: Your Clan's Own Lore
Alongside the 10+ Alliance ships that will be released, clans can also commission their own Auxiliary Ships. In the Hangar, ships are separated between Alliance (official) and Auxiliary (your own uploaded ships). Upload your own ship art, invent your own class name, write your own lore, set your crew size, and pick your own commissioned date. They live forever on your clan's hangar page as part of your fleet's identity, visible to anyone who visits your Clan Hangar.
Auxiliary ships are fully deployable alongside the rest of your fleet. You can send them on Deployments and DSS escorts, sign your members up to crew them, and they can also gain XP and level up, too. Whether it's a research vessel your clan scrapped together decades ago before the Second Galactic War, or a Super Carrier rising from an operation by Super Earth's Finest, or a commemorative flagship named after a fallen member: it's a perfect creative outlet for clans who want their hangar page to tell a story that the official fleet can't.
The only trade-off is that, because clans can add or remove Auxiliary ships at any time, Auxiliary ships will be isolated from the official fleet economy. They don't earn Fleet Points, they don't show on the Galactic Map, and they don't contribute to the Co-Deployment damage-reduction bonus. They're deployable purely to have your own custom ships out in the field. Every clan starts with 3 Auxiliary slots, and we plan to slowly raise that cap over time as fleets mature.
Your First Week, Step by Step
Whether you're a new clan or one of our long-time clans, here's how to hit the ground running on May 1st!
1. Claim your starter bonus. Every clan that visits the Hangar gets a one-time gift of 500 FP. That's exactly enough to commission your clan's first ship. Pick it, name it, and get it into the field.
2. Deploy it. A deployed Alliance ship earns FP for your clan around the clock. The sooner it's out there, the sooner the next ship is in reach.
3. Tell your members to commission their Super Destroyers. Every player can commission a personal Super Destroyer for free (it's their own progression vehicle), and every actively-deployed destroyer raises your clan's Fleet Readiness multiplier. The more Super Destroyers your members are flying, the faster your clan's fleet grows.
4. Progression Continues. By the end of the first week, you're likely already able to purchase your next ship - choose, commission, name, and deploy! And by this point, your clan is off to the races.
A Note for Clans who Participated in JUTLAND
If your clan participated in Joint Operation: JUTLAND back in 2025, you've already earned something special. You can commission a Jutland-Class Dreadnought for just 750 FP, instead of the full endgame price every other clan will have to work toward. Consider it a thank-you for being part of one of the most ambitious operations the Alliance has ever run. Your Dreadnought is waiting in the Fleet Shop!
One Last Thing
That's everything for the V5.0 'Fleets Update' preview series. Everything in The Hangar, like every other feature in Melchior and on HD2Clans.com, is free, and will always be free. No paywalled content, no premium currencies, no "Pay $3 to unlock customization of XYZ". The fleet your clan builds is the fleet you earn.
The V5.0 Fleets Update is the biggest update we've ever shipped, and the reason it exists is because of you. Since the first Freedom Alliance Order in September of 2024, we've watched this community grow into something genuinely special, with creative ideas pouring out of every corner of the community. HD2Clans has always been our way of giving back, and we've committed from day one to keeping every feature accessible to every player, in every clan, at every size, in every part of the world.
The Fleets Update isn't a one-and-done release. We have a complete progression plan with regular ship releases, new classes, new mechanics, and new ways for your clan to grow your fleet. We've run extensive simulations on the FP economy and progression curve to make sure that pacing feels rewarding for clans of every size, from a 5-person crew to a 500-person regiment, and we'll be watching closely after launch to keep tuning. Right now, we have approximately 12 to 16 months of content already prepared and in active development beyond what's launching May 1st - and that's just what's on the roadmap today.
But all of this costs real money to run. Server hosting, database infrastructure, CDN and storage for every clan logo and player card, our Player Card stack pumping out player cards around the clock (and it'll be producing your Ship Cards now, too!), development time behind all of it... and so on.
If you love what we're building and want to help us keep building it, we'd be genuinely grateful for your support. But one ask first: support community artists and creators before us. The people building lore, art, music, videos, and tools across the HD2 clan community are the ones making this whole thing worth being part of. Back them first. If you've got anything left after that and still want to chip in for us, a one-time contribution of any amount earns you a permanent Supporter tag on your player card and profile, and a monthly subscription at $2/mo (Tier 1) or $5/mo (Tier 2) adds a glowing tier badge on top of that. If you're open to it, pitch in here: hd2clans.com/contribute.
A very special thanks to Alucard Hellsing, Emps, Efren, Hardshell, Chechin, Matthew Lance, and far too many other 3D artists, designers, concepters, and other creative people that played a significant role in making the Fleets Update a reality for HD2Clans.com. So many people have put their love and care into this whole system, and we are proud to deliver it to the entire clan community. With love,
